Kostas is a professor of Computer and Information Science & Associate Dean of Graduate School Education at the University of Pennsylvania. He is an IEEE Fellow & formerly served as the director of interdisciplinary GRASP lab, which hosts 15 faculty and 100+ doctoral and post-doctoral students. He was Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence from 2003 to 2007. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the Karlsruhe Institute of Tech in Germany.
